Here are a selection of comments from our happy customers:

We received a gift voucher of one nights dinner bed and breakfast as a christmas present. The entrance to the Hotel is very grand and immaculately presented. The receptionist came out and gave us directions to the free car parking which from some hotels we have been used to we get a grunt and no eye contact. The porter showed us to our room and arranged for our luggage to be placed into our room whilst we had a drink in the hotels lounge. Expensive quality towels, toiletries and bathrobes and slippers were all part of our room and rate. Great coffee in the room also with fruit teas, hot chocolate and biscuits. No fridge however but you cant expect everything, room service was available,

The evening meal started with again a charming member of staff and again service and quality of food was tip top. Service could have been a bit slower to our liking but no problem as we were really soaking in the candlelit restauarant .Coffee and petit fours were served in the Lounge. A good nights sleep was exactly what we had finished with a wonderful buffet display and well prepared breakfast before our journey home. Recommend the smoked haddock with poached eggs which took a little while but was well worth the wait.

Checkout of the Hotel was efficient as the staff all seemed very happy in what they do. As our stay was a gift we have a rough indication of how much it cost so although I doubt not the cheapest hotel in scarborough it is a great advertisement for you only get what you pay for. If you want spit and sawdust then there are plenty of other hotels to choose from nearby but if you wish for great service , top quality food and to be pampered then stay at the palm court. We cant recommend it highly enough. we will be back

Our First Night of Marriage

We only stayed for one night (4th July 2011) as we had our wedding lunch at The Palm Court and were off to France the next day.
Being second time round for both of us we just had a lunch for immediate family and spent the afternoon in the lounge, which being a Monday was nice and quiet.

The food was excellent, everyone that had the sirloin steak commented on how good it was. The staff were very helpfuland attentive. Our room (The Glaisedale Suite) was everything we wanted and caused the only problem of the day as my future brother-in-law had attemted to book it only to find I'd got there first.
Several of our guests stayed the night at this hotel and we all breakfasted together, which was also very good.

We also had afternoon tea at the Palm Court on our first anniversary which was everything an afternoon tea should be.

Stayed July 2012, travelled with friends

A very enjoyable stay !

Myself , daughter and grandaughter have just enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights stay here. We had a family room which was most comfortable and spotlessly clean. The reception staff were extremely pleasant, efficient and helpful. The elegant dining room is a pleasure to eat in. The breakfasts were delicious with a good choice of cereals, fruits , yoghurts, pastries etc and a good choice of cooked breakfast. The waiting staff were most polite and efficient, and always asked if we would like more toast or drinks. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and will definitely stay here again. My young grandaughter liked it so much that on our last day she announced she didnot want to go home she wished she could stay here forever !

Party Triumph

Stayed 2 nights including Saturday May 11th for my birthday party. Amazing night dinner in the Farndale room preceded by drinks reception. A few visits prior to agree menu's and arrangements. Without exception the staff led by Kevin the Asst. Manager were kind and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The food divine even had wonderful macaroons made by chef with our coffee. 21 one of us stayed the night and our room was so spacious. The hotel is ideally situated and the bonus of a car park for residents is the icing on the cake

Room Tip: Being central no views but a front room as ours was gives a lookout on to the street to people watch

We have stayed here before so knew what to expect, yes the staircases and corridors need attention but the rooms were clean and well serviced and the staff friendly. Particularly Dave in the bar and Monika in the restaurant. The improvement though was the food, particularly the dinner menu.

A choice of dishes ell cooked and presented. They really are trying to raise their game. We also appreciate the hotels central position and covered parking

I haven't stayed at this hotel but I have been there for a couple of New Years celebrations and also a number of meals. It exudes class, and the service is excellent. My wife and I have eaten there a few times and the restaurant is excellent. Absolutely the best destination in Scarborough

We didn't stay as we live nearby but had a lovely afternoon tea. I was looking for somewhere special to take mum for lunch and was walking passed and noticed the board was so pleased we did.

£12 a head for lovely filter coffee, finger sandwiches (smoked salmon, ham, coronation chicken and cucumber and cream cheese), fresh scone with jam and clotted cream , carrot cake, chocolate brownie, macaroon, lemon posset shot and strawberry moose shot. (Small portions but plenty)
Service excellent and lovely environment with nice chilled music.

Mum was even given a flower to take home. Really really nice experience and would definitely recommend it

Great Hotel

We stayed here for two nights and the staff where very friendly and helpful. The family room was a good size and clean. Our little girl enjoyed the swimming pool and the food in the bar was excellent and a good place to escape from the crowds on the seafront. If we stay again in Scarborough we would stay here.

What a gem of tranquility. Absolutely spotless and delightful place. Not a negative comment to be found. Despite the hotel having been around for a long time it has retained it's elegance and is a pleasure of a place to sit back, relax, be waited upon and relax. The staff are exceptional which is always what makes ones stay so good. We are not old, my husband and I neither are we demanding. This place was great value and I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone.

Our first stay in this hotel. Much smaller then those we have previously chosen for a New Year package, about 40 rooms, but had checked it out on an earlier visit, 2 years ago, and it looked good. A bonus was the free under-cover parking, even in the centre of the town.

The staff were unfailingly courteous, smiling, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent (Chef's homemade ice-cream is a MUST). There were nice touches on the evening, like a glass of champagne provided for midnight and a piper, piping in the New Year. Being quite a small hotel there was plenty of space in the lounge to accommodate all the guests sitting around the small dance floor.

No queues or waiting to be served at the bar either. The young DJ really made an effort to interact with the guests, though, as the norm these days, the level of music was a little too loud - but where is it not! Will definitely return here at a later date

This must be the BEST hotel in Scarborough - excellent management / staff, first class food in a magnificent dining room, great entertainment music / dancing and good value for money
Don't even think of trying anywhere else in Scarborough until you try the Palm Court

No kidding!!!!!!!! We will be back for sure
